The phenomenon of domestic violence is present in all countries of the world and all cultures. This problem can be considered a psychological, sociological, philosophical and theological one, but this chapter analyzes its practical side, i.e., the role of the police and law enforcement agencies in Serbia because of their utmost importance in preventing and removing social anomaly. Domestic violence is often analysed as physical violence only. Little attention is paid to other types of violence. The chapters mainly focus on intimate partner violence only. The relevance of the subject comes from the fact that the number of cases, of domestic violence in Serbia, is still on the high level, and this number grows from year to year. Using the comparative law method, it is analyzed the legal and organizational solutions in Serbia in comparison with other parts of the world, especially the EU and the regional countries. Taking into account the research findings that point to organizational weaknesses, it is proposed to improve, the work of the relevant services, especially the police and prosecution authorities.
